"As a bookbinder, Andrew Eddy is truly in a class of his own. The combination of his respect for materials, his sensitivity to design, and his tooling skills are unique. We have worked with him for decades. Some of the projects have been small and others have encompassed entire libraries. Not only do we highly respect Andrew’s skills, we appreciate his understanding that projects have to be delivered on time and on budget. We have been amazed over the years as to how Andrew can adjust his skills to creating a modern binding or a more traditional one. He can and will bring his own ideas to the table, if requested, and this can enhance the final outcome. To a certain extent Andrew is an educator. Clients don’t always know the vocabulary of bookbinding, let alone what they want exactly. He is patient with explaining his craft. Often, understanding the tactile as well as the visual aspect of what he does, he knows it is best to just put examples of his work in the hands of his clients. This was a lovely experience.
